Fishing harbour
Breakwaters form a sheltered harbour on the seafront. Adra still has an active fishing fleet, and the port's hard angles stand out against the curve of the coast.

关于地图
Adra Map Poster & Print
Adra lies on the coast of Almería province, where the Sierra de Gádor and the Alpujarras foothills come down close to the Mediterranean. The map shows a compact old town on rising ground, a fishing harbour with breakwaters, and a long straight coastline. The delta of the Río Adra spreads to the east.
It is one of the oldest settlements in Spain. Phoenicians founded it as Abdera, and the town was later Roman and then Moorish. It is also said to be the last place on the Iberian mainland where the Nasrid sultan Boabdil stayed before leaving for North Africa. Today the plain around it is covered with the plastic greenhouses that define this stretch of the Almería coast.
An Adra map poster pairs the tight streets of the historic core with the sharply geometric pattern of greenhouse plots that reaches toward the hills. The harbour's breakwaters and the coastline give it a clear edge. It is a detailed, layered composition from a coast that is usually seen only from the motorway.

Greenhouse plain
Thousands of greenhouse plots cover the land around the town. From above they form a dense rectangular mosaic that is unique to this part of Andalusia.
Old town slope
The historic centre climbs gently from the shore, with narrow, irregular streets. It follows a pattern that goes back to the town's Moorish and older layers.

为什么选Adra
一张有意义的地图
Adra suits people who have family in the Almería region, anyone who has spent summers on its beaches, and lovers of Mediterranean history reaching back to the Phoenicians. The coastline and greenhouse pattern make a striking graphic image.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to your own text, perhaps Abdera, a family name or a summer year, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand echoes the dry, bright coastal light.
