关于地图
Armentières Map Poster & Print
Armentières lies in the far north of France on the River Lys, which marks the Belgian border just outside town. The river runs along the northern side of the centre, and canals, old channels and waterside parks follow its course. Streets fan out from the central square in the dense, brick-built pattern typical of French Flanders and the Lille area.
The town was almost completely destroyed in the First World War and rebuilt in the 1920s, which is why its centre looks so consistent. The town hall belfry, rebuilt after the war, belongs to the UNESCO-listed Belfries of Belgium and France. Armentières is also remembered in the song Mademoiselle from Armentières, sung widely by British troops.
An Armentières map poster suits people from the Lille area, families with ties across the Belgian border, and anyone who knows the town through its textile past or its wartime history. The line of the river and the compact rebuilt centre give the map a clear structure that works in both small and large formats.

Rebuilt centre
Streets around the main square were rebuilt after 1918. That gives the heart of the map a regular, orderly texture compared with older Flemish towns nearby.
Belfry and town hall
The town hall and its belfry stand at the centre, a UNESCO-listed landmark that anchors the design even when the map shows only streets and blocks.

为什么选Armentières
一张有意义的地图
Armentières means different things to different people: a home town, a place in family war stories, a stop on the way to Belgium. A map poster keeps it simple and focuses on the streets and the river that link all those memories.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or a date that matters. Pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and order the $9 HD download or a framed print.
