关于地图
Bārākpur Map Poster & Print
Bārākpur stretches along the eastern bank of the Hooghly River, about twenty-five kilometres north of central Kolkata. From above it combines two very different patterns: the dense, irregular streets of the town and the wide, green spaces of the old cantonment beside the river. The Barrackpore Trunk Road, one of the region's historic arteries, runs south through it toward the city.
The town grew around the first British military cantonment in Bengal, established in the eighteenth century, and it played a part in the events of 1857, when the sepoy Mangal Pandey confronted his officers here. The riverside also holds Gandhi Ghat, a memorial where some of Mahatma Gandhi's ashes were immersed, and parkland facing Serampore on the opposite bank.
A Bārākpur map poster reads as a portrait of the Hooghly's edge. The river sweeps along one side as a broad open band, the cantonment's lawns and trees leave generous blank space, and inland the settlement tightens into close-knit lanes and railway lines. It is a quieter view of greater Kolkata, shaped by water and by an unusual colonial layout.

Cantonment green
The large open grounds and tree-lined roads of the old military station contrast sharply with the tighter streets of the town, giving the poster a clear division of textures.
Barrackpore Trunk Road
This long historic road runs south toward Kolkata, a firm line that ties Bārākpur into the chain of riverside towns along the Hooghly's eastern bank.
