关于地图
Kaga Map Poster & Print
Kaga is in the southwest of Ishikawa Prefecture, on the Sea of Japan coast near the border with Fukui. From above, the city is spread across several separate centres rather than one core. The old castle town of Daishōji lies near the coast, the hot-spring towns of Yamashiro and Katayamazu sit on the plain, and Yamanaka lies deeper inland in a narrow river valley toward the mountains.
The area gave its name to Kutani porcelain, a colourful overglaze enamel ware first made in the seventeenth century in the hills behind the city. Yamanaka is known for lacquer and wood-turning. Katayamazu faces the calm water of Lake Shibayamagata, and the Kaga Onsen area as a whole has drawn bathers for centuries.
A Kaga map poster brings these scattered towns into a single frame. The coastline and lagoon form smooth edges on the west, the town clusters appear as dense pockets across the plain, and roads and rivers thread into the forested hills. It is a map of a place organised around water, both from the sea and from under the ground.

Daishōji castle town
The former castle town keeps a finer grain of older streets and temple grounds, a denser and more intricate pattern than the newer roads around it.
Yamanaka valley
Inland, Yamanaka Onsen follows the Daishōji River into a narrow gorge. Its streets are pressed into a slim, winding strip between wooded slopes.

为什么选Kaga
一张有意义的地图
Kaga appeals to anyone who has stayed at its onsen, collected Kutani ware or grown up in its small towns. The city is spread across coast, plain and valley, so its map has an unusual, pleasing balance of water and streets.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a trip, a name or a date, and keep or adjust the coordinates line. Pick from five styles, from Noir to Paper. Then download the $9 HD files or order a matte print shipped from a nearby print partner.
