Ridge-following streets
Roads curve around the hills rather than cutting straight across them. That gives the town a natural, irregular pattern that is very different from a planned grid.

关于地图
Kisii Map Poster & Print
Kisii lies in the highlands of western Kenya, southeast of Lake Victoria. The land here is steep and heavily farmed. On a map, the town doesn't form a regular grid. Streets bend to follow ridges and valleys, and neighbourhoods spread over the hilly ground wherever the slopes allow.
The main roads meet in the town centre and head out toward Kisumu, Nyamira and other nearby towns. Between them lies a dense patchwork of small farms, streams and footpaths across green, well-watered hills. At map scale, the area around the town reads as busy and textured rather than empty.
A Kisii map poster shows the commercial centre of the Gusii highlands. The region is known for its fertile farmland and for Kisii soapstone, which is carved into sculpture in nearby communities. In monochrome, the curving roads and the terrain produce a lively, organic design.

Highland farmland
Around the town, small farms and streams cover the hills. They fill the map with fine texture from edge to edge.
