Koumra Map Poster & Print
Koumra is a town in southern Chad and the administrative centre of the Mandoul region. The land here is savanna rather than the desert of the country's north. From above, the town looks like a loose web of roads and compounds, with streets thinning out into tracks that cross farmland and scattered woodland.
Southern Chad is the country's main farming zone, and cotton has long been one of its important crops. That rural setting explains much of Koumra's shape on a map. There is no dense grid. Instead, main roads lead in from surrounding districts and the town grows along them, with open ground between clusters of houses.
A Koumra map poster is a study in spare lines. The central streets show as a modest cluster, and longer roads run out towards neighbouring settlements. Around them, empty space stands for fields and bush.
