Railway line
The main line between Yangon and Mandalay runs through the town. Its straight course and station area form the backbone of the older street pattern.

关于地图
Pyinmana Map Poster & Print
Pyinmana is a long-established town in central Myanmar, on the railway between Yangon and Mandalay. For most of its history it was a regional market and railway town. That changed in the early 2000s, when the government built the new capital, Naypyidaw, right beside it. The seat of government moved there in 2005 and 2006.
The map makes the difference between the two very clear. Pyinmana has a compact, traditional street pattern around its market and station. Nearby, Naypyidaw has extremely wide boulevards, spaced-out ministry compounds and large empty areas. Seeing them in the same frame is one of the most unusual views of urban planning in Southeast Asia.
A Pyinmana map poster centres on the older town while still showing its larger, newer neighbour. The railway runs through as a firm line, the streets gather around it, and forested hills rise in the distance. For people with roots here, it records the town as it is, beside the capital it helped anchor.

Traditional town grid
Around the market and station, the streets are close and compact. This produces a dense texture that contrasts with the open layout of the new capital.
Naypyidaw's edge
Beside the old town, the wide avenues and spread-out compounds of the capital begin. The two very different plans meet within the same frame.

为什么选Pyinmana
一张有意义的地图
Pyinmana matters to families who lived here long before the capital arrived, and to people who have watched the area change completely in two decades. A map of the town preserves its older streets and its place next to Naypyidaw.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates, perhaps in Burmese or with a family date. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It comes as a $9 digital download or a printed poster from partners in over 30 countries.
