Iset meanders
The river curves in tight loops past the town and leaves oxbow lakes on its floodplain. On the map it is a flowing counterpoint to the straight streets.

关于地图
Shadrinsk Map Poster & Print
Shadrinsk stands on the left bank of the Iset River in Kurgan Oblast, on the flat land where the Urals give way to the West Siberian plain. Founded in the seventeenth century, it grew into a prosperous merchant town. From above, its centre is a regular grid of straight streets and blocks, set right up against the meandering river and its floodplain.
The river is the most irregular feature on the map. It loops and doubles back, and its old channels and oxbow lakes lie across the lowland beside the town. Shadrinsk has kept a good deal of its old merchant architecture, and it gave its name to a well-known breed, the Shadrinsk goose, raised in the region for generations.
A Shadrinsk map poster makes the contrast between planned town and natural river very clear. The grid is calm and repetitive, and the Iset twists beside it with its oxbows and wetlands. The railway crosses the town in a straight line. Printed in black and white, it is a quiet and balanced image of an old Siberian town.

Merchant grid
The historic centre follows a regular plan of straight streets and rectangular blocks. It is a reminder of the town's past as a trading centre on the Siberian route.
Open plain
Beyond the town the land is flat and wide, with fields, woodland and scattered lakes. The poster frames the city as an island in an open landscape.

为什么选Shadrinsk
一张有意义的地图
People who were born in Shadrinsk, studied there or have family roots in the Trans-Urals often want a calm image of the town rather than a postcard. A map with the river and the old grid does that very well.
You can set the title and subtitle, in Russian or English, and add a date or a line of text. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The Paper style suits the old merchant town.
