Soria Map Poster & Print
Soria sits on the high plateau of Castile and León and is one of the smallest provincial capitals in Spain. Its old town climbs a slope above the Duero, with narrow streets fanning out from the main squares and the wooded hill of the former castle rising between the houses and the river. Beyond, newer districts spread out in a more regular pattern.
The city is known for its Romanesque churches, among them the carved facade of Santo Domingo and the cloister of San Juan de Duero, with its unusual interlaced arches, across the river. The poet Antonio Machado taught here in the early twentieth century, and the landscapes around Soria run through his book Campos de Castilla.
On a Soria map poster the Duero draws a clean curve along the eastern side of town, crossed by the old stone bridge, while the green block of the Alameda de Cervantes appears as a calm open space among the streets. The composition feels balanced and unhurried, much like the town itself.
