Loppem Castle park
The castle's grounds, with ponds and winding paths, appear as an open green shape among the surrounding lanes, a contrast to the tight village blocks nearby.

关于地图
Zedelgem Map Poster & Print
Zedelgem is a municipality rather than a single town. Several villages, including Zedelgem itself, Loppem, Aartrijke and Veldegem, sit within a patchwork of fields, hedgerows and small woods just south of Bruges in West Flanders. On the map each village forms a small knot of streets, and narrow roads link them across open land.
Loppem Castle, a neo-Gothic country house set in a landscaped park with ponds, is the best-known building in the area. In the autumn of 1918 King Albert I stayed there during the last weeks of the First World War. The E40 motorway and a railway line cross the municipality, giving the rural map a few firm, straight lines against the looser pattern of lanes.
A Zedelgem map poster captures something typical of Flanders: a landscape that is neither city nor wilderness, but a close weave of settlements, farms and estates. In black and white the village centres show up as dense clusters, the parks as soft open shapes, and the motorway as a single confident stroke.

Cluster of villages
Zedelgem, Loppem, Aartrijke and Veldegem each form their own small centre, so the map has several focal points instead of one single core.
Motorway and rail
The E40 and the railway run straight across the municipality, clear lines drawn through a landscape otherwise shaped by fields and country roads.
