Dapeng is a town in northern Jiangsu, located in the Xuzhou area close to the borders with Shandong and Anhui. The landscape here is part of the wide North China Plain, flat and heavily cultivated, and from above the town appears as a rectangular patch of streets set within a tidy grid of fields.
