Pineda de Mar sits on the Maresme coast north of Barcelona, where a long, straight shoreline shapes the rest of the map. The coastal railway runs beside the beach and draws a firm line between the sand and the town. Behind it the streets unfold in rows that tilt gently uphill. Further inland the pattern loosens.
