Lake Van shoreline
The northern shore of the great saline lake curves across the map, and the open water provides a wide, quiet field against the town's street pattern.

Erciş Map Poster
Erciş stands near the northern shore of Lake Van, the largest lake in Turkey, in the eastern highlands of Anatolia. On the map, the town sits a short distance back from the water, with streets extending across level ground towards the lakeshore. The lake is a vast, blank expanse that takes over the southern part of any frame.
Erciş has a long history, and the old town of the same name was gradually lost to the rising waters of the lake centuries ago. In October 2011 the area was struck by a major earthquake that caused heavy damage in the town, and new housing districts were built in the years that followed.
An Erciş map poster brings these elements together: a modern street network shaped partly by reconstruction, roads running along the lake and inland across the plateau, and the long curving shoreline of Lake Van. In black and white, the empty water gives the composition a striking stillness.

Post-2011 districts
Housing areas built after the 2011 earthquake appear as more regular blocks at the town's edges, distinct from the older streets near the centre.
Plateau roads
Highways run along the lake and across the high plateau towards neighbouring towns, drawing long, clean lines through open country.

Erciş
For people from Erciş, the town is tied to the lake, the mountains and the experience of rebuilding. A map is a thoughtful way to hold onto it, whether you still live on the shore or far away.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a few words of your own. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; darker styles make the lake especially striking.
