Hepu Map Poster & Print
Hepu lies in the south of Guangxi, just north-east of Beihai, on the flat plain of the lower Nanliu River as it approaches the Gulf of Tonkin. From above, the county seat is a compact town set beside the river, surrounded by rice fields, ponds and villages. Channels of the delta branch south toward the coast, where the land dissolves into tidal flats.
Hepu has a long history as a port and trading centre. During the Han dynasty it was one of the departure points of the Maritime Silk Road, and the many Han tombs discovered around the town reflect that period of wealth. The region is also famous for Hepu pearls, prized in China for centuries and often simply called southern pearls.
A Hepu map poster captures a landscape shaped by water: the river winding past the town, the pattern of fields and ponds, the delta channels and the distant coastline. In black and white, the interplay of water and land becomes graphic and clear, and the old town at its centre remains easy to find.

Delta landscape
Channels, ponds and fields fill the low ground between the town and the sea. From above they form a fine mosaic of shapes, dense with detail.
Han tomb grounds
One of China's largest groups of Han-dynasty tombs lies around the town, parts of it protected as heritage sites. On the poster these areas show as open spaces within the settled plain.

Hepu
Hepu is a place of deep roots, and many families from Beihai and the Guangxi coast trace their origins to its villages. A map of the town and its delta makes a meaningful print for a home, or a gift for someone who grew up by the Nanliu River.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a village name or a family date, and select one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits the warm, coastal character of the region.

Hepu Map Poster & Print — FAQ
