Airport runway
The runway of Madagascar's main international airport cuts a single straight line across the plain. It is the most striking element of the print.

Ivato Map Poster & Print
Ivato lies on the flat valley floor northwest of Antananarivo, Madagascar's capital, and is best known as the site of the country's main international airport. On the map the runway dominates: a long straight line laid across low ground that is otherwise divided into rice paddies and irrigation channels. Residential areas spread along the roads around the edge of the airport.
The plain around Ivato is part of the wide lowland that surrounds the capital, where the Ikopa river and its tributaries have long supported rice farming. From above, the paddies form a fine, irregular mosaic of small fields. The built-up areas sit on slightly higher ground between them, linked to the city by the main road running southeast.
For many people, an Ivato map poster shows their first image of Madagascar: the view from an aeroplane window as it descends over green fields towards the runway. In black and white, that approach becomes a clean composition of one strong line and a delicate pattern of fields, water and streets around it.

Rice paddies
Small irrigated fields cover much of the surrounding lowland. They draw a fine mosaic of plots and channels that fills the open parts of the map.
Road to the capital
The main road towards central Antananarivo links Ivato to the city, with houses and shops gathered along its length.

Ivato
This map suits anyone whose connection to Madagascar began or ended here: travellers, aid workers, researchers, and families who met relatives at arrivals. It also works for people who live in Ivato, a neighbourhood the rest of the world usually knows only as an airport code.
Give the poster the town's name or a personal line as its title, add a date as a subtitle and adjust the coordinates. All five styles are available. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries, and the HD files come as 300 DPI PNG and PDF.

Ivato Map Poster & Print — FAQ
