Palawan Map Poster & Print
Palawan is one of the longest islands in the Philippines, a narrow strip stretching for well over four hundred kilometres between the South China Sea to the west and the Sulu Sea to the east. On the map it looks like a blade pointing toward Borneo. It has a mountainous spine, a single highway along much of its length, and a coastline that breaks apart toward the north.
Puerto Princesa, the main city, sits on a sheltered bay on the Sulu Sea side, about halfway along the island. Farther north the land splits into karst headlands, coves and offshore islets around El Nido, where tall limestone cliffs rise from shallow water. A Palawan map poster sets that intricate northern tip against the smoother, forested south.
Much of the island is protected. The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, includes a river that flows for several kilometres through a limestone cave before reaching the sea. Palawan is often called the country's last frontier, because large areas of its forest and mangrove are still intact.

Puerto Princesa
The main city occupies a bay on the eastern shore. Its compact street grid is the island's largest cluster of roads and a natural centre for the composition.
Between two seas
The west coast faces the South China Sea and the east coast faces the Sulu Sea. Seen whole, the island becomes a single dividing line between two bodies of water.

Palawan
People remember Palawan by its water: island-hopping in El Nido, the boat into the underground river, a long drive down the highway. Its long shape works especially well as a full-island poster, a clean diagonal across the frame.
Edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line to record a trip, a wedding or a home town. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Try the free 900 px preview first, then download the HD files or order a print.
