Thomasville Map Poster & Print
Thomasville lies in Davidson County, North Carolina, in the rolling Piedmont between High Point and Lexington. The town grew up along the North Carolina Railroad, and the tracks still run straight through the centre with the downtown grid laid out on either side. Beyond it, the map loosens into curving suburban streets, wooded creeks and the broad line of Interstate 85.
Thomasville built its identity on furniture making and calls itself the Chair City. Downtown, a giant chair on a pedestal has become the town's emblem; it has been rebuilt more than once since the first one went up in the 1920s. Nearby, the old railroad depot is considered one of the oldest surviving depots in North Carolina.
A Thomasville map poster lays out a classic railroad town in plan. The tracks cut diagonally across the sheet, the compact downtown blocks line up with them, and the neighbourhoods fan outward in looser, curving patterns. Former factory sites along the line add large, blocky footprints, a reminder of the industry that shaped the place.

The Big Chair
The oversized chair monument stands downtown. It is a small point on the map, but it is the landmark everyone in the region associates with Thomasville.
Interstate edge
Interstate 85 passes the town, and its wide lanes and interchanges draw a bold modern line in contrast with the older grid around the railroad.
