Yelabuga Map Poster & Print
Yelabuga sits on the right bank of the Kama in Tatarstan, where the small Toima river comes down to meet it. From above, the historic centre is a tight, regular grid of merchant streets on a raised terrace. Beyond it the land drops away toward water meadows, backwaters and the broad sweep of the river, which gives the town a strong natural edge on one side.
The town is known well beyond the region. The landscape painter Ivan Shishkin was born here, and his family house is now a museum. The poet Marina Tsvetaeva spent her last days in Yelabuga in 1941. On a bluff above the Kama stands the restored stone tower of an ancient hillfort, known locally as the Devil's Settlement, and it can be seen from the river.
A Yelabuga map poster shows the contrast between the orderly nineteenth-century core and the looser districts built later, with the Kama and its floodplain filling a generous part of the frame. Outside the town lie the large industrial plots of the Alabuga economic zone. Their broad blocks look very different from the fine grain of the old streets, and the difference is clear even in plain black and white.

Merchant-era grid
The historic centre keeps its regular pattern of parallel streets and short cross lanes. This compact rectangle stands out clearly against the curving roads of later districts.
Toima confluence
The small Toima winds in from the countryside and joins the Kama beside the town, adding a narrow, meandering line to the composition.

Yelabuga
For many people Yelabuga is tied to Shishkin's forests and Tsvetaeva's poems, and a map is a quiet way to keep that link on a wall. It suits former residents, visitors who came for the museums and anyone drawn to river towns with an intact old centre.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a family name, a date or a short note. Choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Then download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
