Compact core
The densest streets gather in a small central area. On the poster this forms a dark, detailed heart that draws the eye before it moves outward along the roads.

Mapa
Lüfeng Map Poster & Print
Lüfeng lies in the western part of Chongqing municipality, where the landscape becomes the gentle, rolling hills of the Sichuan Basin. The town forms a compact core of streets. Roads lead out from it toward the surrounding villages. Beyond the built edge the map breaks up into small field shapes, winding lanes and patches of water typical of this long-farmed countryside.
Like many towns in the basin, Lüfeng has grown in stages. There is an older, tighter centre and newer blocks added along the main roads. The layout is practical, not ceremonial. Streets follow the lie of the land and the needs of trade, so the map has a slightly irregular, lived-in feel instead of a planned symmetry.
A Lüfeng map poster is a portrait of an everyday Chinese town, rendered in careful black line work. Its interest lies in the balance between the settled centre and the intricate agricultural landscape around it. In print, that contrast gives the design both a focal point and plenty of fine texture.

Radiating roads
Several routes leave the centre toward neighbouring villages and towns. They form the main structure of the map and connect the town to the rural hinterland.
Basin countryside
Around the town, small lanes, field edges and scattered ponds create a finely textured background. This is typical of the densely farmed hills of the Sichuan Basin.
