Warwick sits on the Condamine River in the Southern Downs of Queensland, surrounded by the rolling farmland of the Darling Downs. The map shows a generous colonial grid of wide streets, laid out beside a bend of the river, with parks and sports grounds breaking up the regular blocks.
The town is known for its sandstone buildings from the nineteenth century and for the Warwick Rodeo, one of the long-running rodeo events in Australia. The river corridor, lined with parkland, curves through the edge of the town, while highways lead out toward Toowoomba, Brisbane and the New South Wales border.
