Baihe Map Poster & Print
Baihe is a town in the northeast of Chongqing Municipality, in the mountainous hinterland far from the dense towers of the central city. The region is one of steep ridges and narrow valleys, and Baihe's streets follow the ground rather than any imposed plan. The built-up area stretches in a narrow band where the slopes flatten out enough for houses and shops.
On a map this produces a distinctive shape. The town is long and narrow, with a main street running through it and short side lanes stepping up the hillsides. Roads leave along the valleys toward neighbouring towns. Farmland and forest cover much of the surrounding land, and in a black and white print they form a quiet, open frame.
