关于地图
Butare Map Poster & Print
Butare, officially known today as Huye, sits in the hills of southern Rwanda, and like most Rwandan towns it follows the landscape. Roads run along ridges and wind around slopes, neighbourhoods cling to hillsides, and the valleys between them are often left green, so the map shows a town spread in fingers rather than a single compact block.
The town is Rwanda's longstanding academic centre. The country's first national university was founded here in 1963, and its campus, now part of the University of Rwanda, is a large, clearly defined area on the map. The town is also home to the Ethnographic Museum and a large cathedral, among the most notable buildings in the country.
A Butare map poster suits graduates, researchers and families alike: people who spent years walking the road from the campus to the town centre. On paper the ridges, valleys and the long main road form a composition of real movement.

Ridge-top roads
Main roads follow the crests of the hills, and neighbourhoods spread along them, giving the town a branching, organic outline.
Green valleys
Valley floors between the hills stay largely open, farmed or wooded, leaving calm spaces between the built-up ridges in the print.
