The Rwizi River
The river curves through the city, and its green corridor is the strongest natural line on the map, separating districts and crossed by the main roads near the centre.

关于地图
Mbarara Map Poster & Print
Mbarara lies in south-western Uganda, in rolling country of hills and shallow valleys. The Rwizi River winds through the city, and the main streets run close to it, with the commercial centre compact and the residential neighbourhoods spreading up the surrounding slopes. From above, the pattern is a dense core with looser, curving roads following the terrain outward.
The city is the traditional heart of Ankole, a region known for its long-horned Ankole cattle, whose enormous curved horns are a familiar image of western Uganda. Dairy farming is central to the local economy, and Mbarara is a major market and service town for the surrounding districts. It is also home to Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
Mbarara sits on the main road between Kampala and the south-west, making it a natural stop on the way toward Rwanda and the national parks of the region. The Mbarara map poster shows the city in that role: a crossing point of roads and river, set among hills that give its streets their gentle curves.

Hillside neighbourhoods
Beyond the compact centre, residential streets climb the surrounding slopes in winding lines, giving the outer parts of the map a soft, organic texture.
Highway junction
Main roads from Kampala, Kabale and the west converge on the city, drawing long lines that frame the urban area and point to the wider region.

为什么选 Mbarara
一张有意义的地图
Mbarara is a hometown for many families across Ankole and a university town for students from all over Uganda. The map makes a thoughtful gift for a graduation, a new home or someone living far from the western hills.
Add a name or date to the title, adjust the subtitle and coordinates, and pick one of five styles. The digital files cost $9, include six print sizes and have no watermark, so they can be printed locally.
