Branching reservoir
The reservoir spreads into dozens of narrow arms and bays that follow former valleys, giving the poster a striking organic outline unlike any natural lake.

关于地图
Danjiangkou Map Poster & Print
Danjiangkou sits where the Han River leaves one of China's largest reservoirs. On the map the city lines the riverbank below the dam, while upstream the water spreads into a maze of flooded valleys, each finger of the lake reaching back between wooded ridges. Streets follow the river and then climb gently away from it.
The Danjiangkou Reservoir is the source of the middle route of the South–North Water Transfer Project, which carries water toward Beijing and the North China Plain. The dam itself is a short, solid line across the river, small on paper but decisive for the landscape around it.
The city's territory also takes in the Wudang Mountains, a Taoist sacred range whose temple complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A Danjiangkou map poster captures the unusual pairing of a compact river town and an enormous body of water shaped like a fractal leaf.

Dam and Han River
Below the dam the Han River resumes its course as a single channel, and the city's main streets trace its banks in a long, gently curving band.
Wudang foothills
South of the city the terrain folds into the Wudang range, where roads switch back through valleys and settlements thin out into scattered mountain tracks.

为什么选 Danjiangkou
一张有意义的地图
Danjiangkou suits someone who knows it through water: a childhood by the reservoir, a pilgrimage to Wudang, or work connected to the great canal north. The map's mix of river, dam and flooded valleys makes a calm, graphic piece for any wall.
Personalise the title and subtitle, set the coordinates to a meaningful spot and pick from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital download costs $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
