Daxing Map Poster & Print
Daxing lies in the mountains of northwestern Yunnan, in the Lijiang area, and serves as the seat of Ninglang County. Its map is shaped by the terrain. The town occupies a narrow stretch of flatter ground in a valley, and its streets follow that space, running lengthwise with shorter cross streets that end where the slopes begin.
Around the town, the landscape rises into forested ridges and high plateaus, and the roads that leave Daxing do so by following valleys and switching back up hillsides. Ninglang County is also home to part of Lugu Lake, a high mountain lake known for the Mosuo communities who live along its shores, though it lies some distance from the town itself.
