Through road
The main road runs the length of the town and ties it to the wider region. Most of the streets branch off it, so it works as the spine of the map.

关于地图
Ibnat Map Poster & Print
Ibnat is a town in Ethiopia's Amhara region, in the northern highlands east of Lake Tana. On the map, a main road runs through the centre and the town grows out from it. Streets branch away at loose angles and then fade into paths and fields. It is a compact place surrounded by open, farmed upland.
The terrain around Ibnat sets the pattern. Streams cut small valleys, and the roads follow the easiest routes over the ridges instead of forming a grid. Farm plots and scattered homesteads cover the land between settlements. On a map this reads as a dense core of streets, with thinner tracks spreading out into the countryside.
An Ibnat map poster records a working highland town without extra decoration. The main road, the side streets that come off it and the stream beds nearby are enough to give the composition its structure. The result is a modest, honest plan of a place that matters most to the people connected to it.

Informal street pattern
Instead of a regular grid, the lanes meet at varied angles and follow the ground. This gives the town centre an organic, hand-drawn texture from above.
Upland surroundings
Outside the built-up area, streams and farm tracks cross the highland plateau. They form a light web of lines around the denser centre.
