Lane network
Narrow lanes branch in every direction and form one of the most intricate street textures a map can show. It is especially striking at larger print sizes.

关于地图
Mātuail Map Poster & Print
Mātuail lies on the eastern edge of Dhaka, where the growing city meets the low, water-shaped land of the delta. It was once largely rural, but it has filled rapidly with housing in recent decades. The map now shows a dense mix of narrow lanes, small blocks and scattered ponds, bordered by land that still floods in the monsoon.
The streets here tend to follow old field boundaries and paths instead of any plan, which creates an intricate, irregular network that branches and doubles back. Larger roads connect the neighbourhood to central Dhaka and to the routes heading east. Canals and ponds appear as irregular shapes among the houses.
A Mātuail map poster renders this complexity with clarity. In fine black lines, the density of the lanes becomes a texture of its own, and the patches of water and open land give the eye places to rest. It is a detailed, personal map for people who know these streets closely and want to keep them in view.

Ponds and canals
Ponds and canals are scattered among the buildings as small irregular shapes. They break up the dense fabric and recall the area's recent rural past.
City edge
To the east, the built-up area thins into lower, open land, which shows clearly where the city of Dhaka meets the delta countryside.
