Mikumi Map Poster & Print
Mikumi is a small town in the Morogoro region of Tanzania, on the main highway running west from Dar es Salaam toward Iringa and Zambia. It lies at the edge of Mikumi National Park, and the highway passes directly through the park, so travellers often see giraffes, zebras and elephants from the road. The town serves as a stop for trucks and buses and as a base for visitors to the park.
On the map, the highway is the defining line. Mikumi stretches along it, with shops, guesthouses and fuel stations lining the road, and residential streets branching off behind them. To one side the country opens into the wide plains of the park, and to the south the land rises toward the Udzungwa Mountains.

Buildings and side streets cluster along both sides of the highway. They form a long, narrow settlement typical of towns that grew up around traffic.
Park plains
The national park spreads out beyond the town as wide, open land. On the poster, this calm space emphasises how small the settlement is.
