Old town
The historic centre appears as a dense, uneven cluster of lanes and small blocks, a sharp contrast to the broad, geometric developments surrounding it.

关于地图
Sānand Map Poster & Print
Sānand lies west of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, on the flat plains that extend toward the Nal Sarovar wetlands. On a map the old town forms a compact cluster of lanes, while around it the landscape is divided into large rectangular plots of industrial estates, logistics yards and new residential developments linked by wide roads.
The town became widely known in 2008, when Tata Motors moved production of its Nano car here after leaving West Bengal. Other automobile and manufacturing companies followed, turning Sānand into one of the main industrial centres of the Ahmedabad region and changing the scale of the landscape around the historic town.
A Sānand map poster captures this unusual pairing. The fine, irregular streets of the old centre sit next to the vast, orderly grid of factories and estates, showing in a single image how quickly the surroundings of a small Gujarati town can be transformed by new industry over just a few years.

Industrial estates
Large rectangular plots and straight internal roads mark the manufacturing zones around the town, creating some of the most regular shapes on the map.
Toward Nal Sarovar
West of the town the land stretches toward the Nal Sarovar lake and bird sanctuary, a wide, open landscape of fields and seasonal water.
