关于地图
Selma Map Poster & Print
Selma is a small city in Fresno County, in California's San Joaquin Valley. It calls itself the Raisin Capital of the World, a reference to the vineyards that cover much of the surrounding land. Grapes are grown here and dried into raisins, and the industry has shaped the town's economy for generations.
From above, the valley's flatness is obvious. Selma's streets follow a strict rectangular grid, oriented to the survey lines that divide the farmland into square sections. State Route 99, the valley's main highway, runs diagonally through the town, and a railway line runs alongside it, so two slanting lines cut across the otherwise orthogonal pattern.
A Selma map poster makes that geometry its subject. The town grid, the diagonal highway and railway, and the vineyards beyond, drawn as rows of parcels, form a composition with almost graphic precision. In black and white, it looks like an agricultural landscape reduced to its lines.

Highway 99 diagonal
State Route 99 and the parallel railway cut through Selma at an angle. They draw bold diagonals across the grid.
Vineyard sections
Beyond the city limits, square farm parcels and vineyard rows cover the flat valley floor and give the edges of the map a precise texture.
