关于地图
Výronas Map Poster & Print
Výronas is a municipality in the Athens urban area, on the eastern side of the city where the streets begin to climb toward Mount Hymettus. It is named after Lord Byron, the English poet who supported the Greek War of Independence. The district grew in the 1920s when refugees from Asia Minor settled here, and its dense, irregular street pattern still reflects that rapid early growth.
From above, the lower part of Výronas merges seamlessly into neighbouring Athens districts, while the upper edge meets the pine-covered flanks of Hymettus. There, a former quarry has been turned into an open-air theatre used for summer concerts. The change from compact housing to forested slope is abrupt, and it gives the map a strong natural boundary.
A Výronas map poster shows a place defined by its position between city and mountain. The fine mesh of streets, the winding roads that follow the slope and the blank green space of Hymettus above make a composition with a clear sense of direction. For residents, it is also a map of the view toward central Athens from higher up the hill.

Quarry theatre
An old stone quarry above the town has been converted into an open-air theatre, a distinctive hollow in the hillside on the map.
Refugee-era streets
Neighbourhoods built for Asia Minor refugees in the 1920s form a tight grid of small blocks, still visible in the district's texture.

为什么选 Výronas
一张有意义的地图
People from Výronas often keep a strong sense of neighbourhood identity, rooted in refugee family histories and the closeness of the mountain. A map of its streets carries that story quietly, without words.
Add your own title and subtitle, perhaps a family name or year, and edit the coordinates line. Choose one of five styles, Paper or Noir work well here, and download HD files for $9 or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
