Planned residential core
Regular blocks of multi-storey housing arranged around shared courtyards give the centre a rhythmic, almost geometric pattern that reads especially well in black and white.

关于地图
Yuzhnyy Map Poster & Print
Yuzhnyy sits just south of Barnaul in Altai Krai, and its name simply means southern. From above it looks like a planned place, not one that grew slowly. Straight streets and rows of mid-rise housing blocks form a tidy core, with courtyards opening between the buildings. Past its edges the pattern changes quickly, with wooded ground on one side and the long rectangles of cultivated fields on the other.
The settlement sits within the wider orbit of Barnaul, the regional capital on the Ob, and the roads leading out of Yuzhnyy mostly point north towards the city. The Altai region is known for the ribbon-like pine forests that run across its plains, and on a map the dark, even texture of the woodland contrasts sharply with the ordered streets. The contrast is a strong one to build a composition around.
A Yuzhnyy map poster turns this meeting of town, forest and field into a clean graphic study. Housing blocks become small repeated shapes, main roads become firm lines, and the surrounding open land gives the image generous breathing room. It is a modest place, and the poster keeps it that way, showing its real layout clearly and without any added decoration.

Road towards Barnaul
The main routes run north to the regional capital. On the poster they become strong lines connecting the settlement to the larger city beyond the frame.
Forest and field edges
Wooded ground and large cultivated plots press against the built-up area, giving the map a clear boundary between the town and the landscape around it.

为什么选 Yuzhnyy
一张有意义的地图
For people who grew up in Yuzhnyy or moved away to Barnaul, Novosibirsk or further, the plan of the streets brings back walks between the blocks, the way to school and the road into the city. It makes a quiet, personal piece for a hallway or study.
You can add your own title and subtitle, a family name or a meaningful date, and change the coordinates line. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy the digital files for $9 or order a matte print, with a wooden frame if you like.
