Dense town core
The centre of the town is a close mesh of narrow lanes and small blocks. On the poster it forms a strong, dark cluster in the middle of the lighter countryside.

El mapa
Afzalgarh Map Poster & Print
Afzalgarh lies in Bijnor district in western Uttar Pradesh, close to the border with Uttarakhand. The surrounding country is part of the wide Gangetic plain, flat and heavily farmed, with the Himalayan foothills further to the north. The town is small, and on a map it appears as a dense core of narrow lanes with roads leading out to neighbouring villages.
Sugarcane and grain dominate the fields in this part of the state. From above, the land around the town is divided into a fine patchwork of plots, tracks and small watercourses. The main character of the drawing comes from the contrast between the tight, irregular streets of the town and the open geometry of the farmland.
For many people, Afzalgarh is a family place, somewhere left behind for work in Delhi, the Gulf or further away, but never quite forgotten. An Afzalgarh map poster keeps the shape of the town in view: the lanes of the bazaar, the roads to nearby villages and the flat fields stretching toward the horizon.

Roads to the villages
Several roads run outward from the town across the plain. Like spokes, they connect Afzalgarh to the surrounding villages and market routes.
Farmland patchwork
The fields around the town are divided into many small plots by tracks and channels. They create a fine, even texture that covers most of the map.
