Anwen is a town within the Chongqing municipality in southwestern China, in a region shaped by hills and folded terrain. Settlements here rarely follow straight lines. Instead, roads trace the contours of valleys and slopes, and the built-up area stretches along the most usable ground. From above, this gives the town an organic, elongated form.
The surrounding landscape is largely rural, with terraced fields, small clusters of houses and narrow roads that climb and descend between them.
