El mapa
Seen from above, Braşov is a city of two halves. The old town sits in a tight wedge between Tâmpa mountain and the ridges to the west, its streets drawn in short, irregular lines around the broad rectangle of the Council Square. Beyond the line of the former walls, the map opens out: apartment blocks, rail yards and industrial estates spread north and east across the flat land of the Bârsa basin.
The city was settled by Transylvanian Saxons, who knew it as Kronstadt, and the medieval layout still shows their planning. Stretches of wall and several bastions survive along the edge of the old town, and the Black Church, a large Gothic hall church, anchors the streets just off the square. To the southwest, the Schei quarter climbs a narrow valley, its lanes following the slope rather than any plan.
A Braşov map poster captures that contrast between a compact walled centre and the long mountain backdrop that frames it. In black and white, the mass of Tâmpa reads as a quiet void pressing on the street pattern, while the boulevards that follow the line of vanished walls on the northern side trace the edge of the old town. Southward, the road to the Poiana Braşov ski resort winds up into the hills.
Piața Sfatului forms an open rectangle at the heart of the old town, with the old council house standing in its middle and the main streets of the medieval town leading away from its edges.
Strada Sforii, often cited as one of the narrowest streets in Europe, appears on the map as a thin line barely wider than a pencil stroke, linking two parallel streets near the southern wall.
The wooded mountain rises directly above the old town's south-eastern edge, leaving a steep, blank area on the map crossed only by footpaths and a cable car to its summit.

Por qué Braşov
People hang Braşov for the way it holds medieval streets and mountain slopes in one frame: school years in the old town, winters at Poiana, or a family history in Transylvania. The map carries all of that without needing a single photograph.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line yourself, for example a wedding date or the name of a street, and choose one of five styles. Paper or Sand suits the Saxon rooftops, while Blueprint turns the bastions and walls into a crisp technical drawing.
