El mapa
Changhua sits where the flat farmland of western Taiwan meets the first rise of the Bagua Mountain plateau. On a map the contrast is immediate: a dense, fine-grained street pattern fills the lowland, then stops abruptly against the wooded slope to the east. Rail lines cut through the town from north to south, and the older streets gather around the station and the temple quarter in a tight, irregular knot.
The city is the seat of Changhua County and one of the older settlements on Taiwan's western plain. Its best-known landmark is the large seated Buddha statue on Baguashan, visible from much of the town. Near the station stands the fan-shaped railway roundhouse, a working locomotive shed whose semicircle of tracks around a turntable is one of the more unusual shapes you can find on any street map.
A Changhua map poster keeps all of this in black line work: the slope of the plateau, the rail corridor, the knot of old lanes and the looser grid spreading west toward the fields. Without colour or labels, the city reads as texture, a quiet record of how a railway junction town grew up against a hill.
The eastern side of the city ends against the Bagua plateau, where the dense street network gives way to winding roads climbing the slope toward the Great Buddha statue.
Beside the main station, a semicircular locomotive shed fans out around a turntable. From above it forms a precise arc of tracks, a small geometric motif inside the surrounding blocks.
Taiwan's mountain and coastal rail lines rejoin at Changhua, so parallel tracks and yards run through the centre, dividing older and newer districts and giving the map a strong north–south spine.

Por qué Changhua
People who grew up in Changhua, studied there or changed trains at its station often want the town in a form calm enough to live with every day. The meeting of plain and hill works well in a hallway or study, where the fine street texture rewards a closer look.
You can set your own title and subtitle, add a date that matters to you, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9, or order a printed poster, framed if you like.
