Ridge and valley streets
Roads in Concórdia follow the lie of the land, curving around hillsides and along ridgelines. On the print, their bends reveal the shape of the hills beneath them.

El mapa
Concórdia Map Poster & Print
Concórdia sits in the west of Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil, in hilly country above the Uruguay River basin. From above the town does not have a simple grid. Its streets climb and wind with the land, running along ridges, dropping into valleys and meeting at irregular junctions, so the map has a loose, organic pattern shaped by the terrain.
The town is closely tied to agriculture and food processing. The company Sadia was founded here in the 1940s, and Concórdia is still associated with pork and poultry production, including an Embrapa research centre dedicated to it. Around the urban area, rural roads spread out towards farms and small communities, winding just like the streets in town.
A Concórdia map poster works because of this topography. Without contour lines, the land still shows through the roads: tight curves where the slopes are steep, straighter stretches along the ridges, and a denser centre where the valley floor allowed a more regular layout. It is a quietly expressive map of a working southern Brazilian town.

The town centre
Where the ground levels out, the streets draw closer together into a more regular core. It forms the darkest, most concentrated part of the composition.
Rural road network
Beyond the edge of town, narrow roads branch out towards farms and villages, spreading thin, winding lines across the outer parts of the frame.
