El mapa
Crawley Map Poster & Print
Crawley in West Sussex was designated as one of Britain's new towns in 1947, and its map still shows the plan. A town centre sits in the middle, and a series of neighbourhoods surrounds it. Each was designed with its own parade of shops, school and green space. Curving residential roads and cul-de-sacs fill these neighbourhoods, and main roads separate them.
Gatwick Airport lies just north of the town, and its long runway is one of the most prominent shapes in the wider area. The airport is a major employer, and the industrial estate at Manor Royal grew between the town and the airfield. To the south and east, woodland and the edge of the High Weald frame the town.
A Crawley map poster turns a planning idea into a graphic form. The neighbourhood cells, each with its own internal pattern, fit together like pieces of a puzzle. The ring roads and main routes outline them clearly, and the runway to the north adds a single strong straight line.

Gatwick runway
The airport's long runway lies just north of the town. It is a bold, straight form against the looser street patterns of the residential areas.
Green buffers
Parks, playing fields and wooded strips run between the neighbourhoods. On the poster they appear as open spaces that let the town's structure breathe.
