Route 29 corridor
U.S. Route 29, the Columbia Pike, runs through the area as a strong, near-straight line, anchoring the composition and contrasting with the curving residential streets around it.

Fairland Map Poster & Print
Fairland is a suburban community in eastern Montgomery County, Maryland, on the outer edge of the Washington, D.C. area and close to the Prince George's County line. On a map it is defined by contrast: long, straight arterial roads carrying traffic north and south, and between them a dense lacework of residential streets that loop, curl and end in rounded cul-de-sacs.
The neighbourhood pattern is typical of late twentieth-century American suburbs, and in black and white it becomes surprisingly graphic. Clusters of townhouse courts and single-family loops sit like small branching diagrams. Green corridors break them up, most notably the stream valleys of the Paint Branch watershed and the grounds of Fairland Regional Park, which appear as open, softly edged areas amid the linework.
A Fairland map poster captures this suburban geometry at a scale where it reads almost like a botanical drawing. Major routes such as U.S. Route 29 give the composition a firm spine, while the quieter streets fill the frame with rhythm. It is the kind of place that rarely appears on posters, which is exactly what makes a map of it feel personal.

Fairland Regional Park
This large park along the Montgomery and Prince George's county line shows up as a broad open area of trails and fields, giving the map a calm green-space counterweight.
Loops and cul-de-sacs
Residential streets branch off collector roads and end in rounded courts, creating a repeating, almost leaf-like pattern that looks striking when reduced to clean black lines.
