Murge escarpment
Behind the town, the ground rises sharply to the wooded plateau of Selva di Fasano. On the map, roads switch back and forth up the slope in tight bends, which contrast with the straight lanes of the plain below.

El mapa
Fasano sits where the limestone escarpment of the Murge drops towards the Adriatic plain in southern Apulia. From above, the town is a dense cluster of short streets at the foot of the slope. Wooded ground climbs behind it towards Selva di Fasano, and a broad, gently falling coastal belt opens in front of it towards the sea a few kilometres away.
That coastal belt fills much of the map around the town. Country roads run in long, slightly curving lines between olive groves, and the fortified farmhouses known as masserie appear as isolated blocks with walled yards. Near the shore lies the archaeological site of Egnazia, the ancient port of Gnathia. Its excavated street and harbour outline is still readable from above.
A Fasano map poster shows the relationship that defines this part of Apulia: town, slope and sea sit in one frame, each with its own texture. The old centre forms the tight knot. Newer quarters loosen outwards, and the rural grid of lanes and field boundaries carries the eye down to a shoreline of small coves and low rocky points.
Behind the town, the ground rises sharply to the wooded plateau of Selva di Fasano. On the map, roads switch back and forth up the slope in tight bends, which contrast with the straight lanes of the plain below.
Between town and coast, a patchwork of groves, drystone boundaries and farm tracks covers the land. At poster scale it reads as a fine, even mesh of thin lines.
The remains of ancient Gnathia sit right at the water's edge. Their rectilinear footprint and small harbour inlet stand out against the irregular Adriatic coastline.

Por qué Fasano
People who have spent summers in the Valle d'Itria or stayed in a masseria outside Fasano often want something that holds the whole setting: the town, the olive country and the sea. This map keeps all three in balance without needing colour to explain them.
You can set your own title and subtitle, perhaps a wedding date or the name of the farmhouse, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It is available as a $9 HD download or as a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
