El mapa
Inđija is in the Syrmia district of Vojvodina, roughly midway between Novi Sad and Belgrade. The ground is so flat that the street pattern looks almost like a diagram. From above, the town is a loose rectangle of blocks and low houses with long back gardens, surrounded by fields that run to the horizon. The wooded ridge of Fruška Gora rises to the northwest, where the plain ends.
The strongest line on any map of the town is the railway between Belgrade and Novi Sad, which drove much of Inđija's growth in the late nineteenth century. The motorway runs close by, and between the two sit warehouses, the station district and newer industrial plots. On an Inđija map poster these straight transport corridors frame the finer grain of the residential streets inside them.
Past the edge of town the pattern changes to long farm parcels and field tracks, the usual texture of Vojvodina farmland. Village roads lead off toward nearby settlements and toward the Danube, which flows a short distance to the northeast. In black and white, the contrast between the dense town core and the ruled lines of the fields becomes the main subject of the print.
The main line crosses the town as one straight stroke. The station and its sidings form a clear hinge between the older streets and the newer blocks that grew up around the tracks.
The motorway between Belgrade and Novi Sad passes close to town. Its interchange and access roads add broad curves that stand out against the otherwise right-angled layout.
Narrow strip fields and farm tracks surround the town in a fine ruled texture. This quiet background lets the compact urban core read clearly at any print size.

Por qué Inđija
Many people from Inđija now live in Novi Sad, Belgrade or further abroad, and a map of the streets they grew up on is a modest way to keep the place close. Put a family name in the title and a year in the subtitle, and let the coordinates line pin down the spot.
The flat, orderly layout works in all five styles, from Classic black and white to Blueprint. For $9 the digital download gives you six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF files. You can also order a printed poster on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
