Central square
The town's streets meet around a main square, the familiar centre of small Bahian towns. It is the densest point on the map.

El mapa
Ituaçu Map Poster & Print
Ituaçu lies in the interior of Bahia, in hilly country on the southern side of the Chapada Diamantina. The town itself is small and compact. A handful of streets meet around a central square and a church, and the settlement stretches out along the roads leading in. Around it, the map is mostly open land, marked with tracks, streams and the shapes of the hills.
The area is known for its limestone caves. The best known is the Gruta da Mangabeira, which has long drawn religious pilgrims to Ituaçu. None of this shows on a street map, but it explains the rugged terrain around the town, where roads follow the valley floors and bend around the higher ground.
An Ituaçu map poster shows a modest pattern of streets, with the countryside of the sertão all around. Because there is so little dense detail, every street carries weight on the page. The result is quiet and intimate, a small town drawn clearly and with space around it, not squeezed in among neighbouring places.

Roads along valleys
The roads leading out follow the lower ground between the hills. They bend and branch in ways that reflect the terrain.
Cave country
The surrounding limestone landscape, known for the Gruta da Mangabeira, gives the region its rugged character. On the map it shows as sparse, winding lines.

Por qué Ituaçu
Un mapa con significado
Ituaçu is a place people carry with them after moving to Salvador, São Paulo or further away. A print of its few streets is something only someone connected to the town will fully understand, and that is part of why it means so much on the wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or the date of a festival. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free 900 px preview lets you check the layout before you buy the $9 HD files.
