Karuvanthuruthy lies in the Kozhikode district of northern Kerala, close to Feroke and the lower course of the Chaliyar river. From above, the area is shaped by water: river channels and low-lying ground break the land into irregular pieces, and the road network bends around them.
Like much of coastal Kerala, the settlement does not form a compact centre. Houses spread along lanes and paths through dense greenery, so the map shows a fine, branching web of roads rather than a grid, with occasional larger roads carrying traffic toward Kozhikode.
