Le Grand-Quevilly lies on the left bank of the Seine, just downstream from central Rouen in Normandy. The river curves in a wide loop here, and the town occupies the flat land inside it. From above, the map shows a clear division: docks and industrial sites along the riverbank, and residential neighbourhoods further inland.
The port of Rouen, one of France's major river ports, extends along this stretch of the Seine, and its basins and quays appear as sharp, geometric shapes.
