Longhe is a town in the Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country east of the city's main urban area. The land here is folded into ridges and valleys, and settlements tend to follow the lower ground, so from above the town appears as a narrow band of streets fitted between slopes.
Roads wind through the landscape, bending around hills and following streams. Terraced fields, small ponds and patches of woodland fill the surrounding area, and each creates its own small shape on the map, giving the rural land around Longhe a dense, detailed texture.
