Lubu is a town in Guangdong province, in the Zhaoqing area to the west of the Pearl River Delta. The landscape here is a mix of river plains, farmland and low wooded hills, and on a map the town appears as a cluster of streets set among fields and ponds, with roads following the valleys between the higher ground.
This part of Guangdong lies within the basin of the West River, the main western branch of the Pearl River system, which has long carried trade between the delta and the interior.
