El mapa

Maddaloni Map Poster & Print

Maddaloni stands at the edge of the plain north of Naples, where the flat farmland of Terra di Lavoro meets the Monti Tifatini. The older town climbs toward the hillside, while newer districts spread outward across the level ground toward Caserta and the main roads and railway.

On the map this creates a clear division. Along the slopes the streets are narrower and more irregular, bending to the terrain beneath the ruins of the castle and the old towers that watch over the town. Down on the plain, blocks become more regular and larger, cut through by broad roads.

Just outside the town lie the Ponti della Valle, the monumental arches of the eighteenth-century Carolino Aqueduct built by Luigi Vanvitelli to supply the Royal Palace of Caserta. A Maddaloni map poster places the town within that landscape of hills, plain and engineered water.

01

Hillside old town

The historic centre rises toward the slopes of the Tifatini hills, where streets tighten and curve beneath the castle ruins and medieval towers.

02

Plain to the south

Toward Caserta the land flattens, and the map shows wider roads, rail lines and a more orderly pattern of blocks.

03

Vanvitelli aqueduct

The Ponti della Valle, part of the Carolino Aqueduct, cross a nearby valley and are among the finest works of eighteenth-century engineering in southern Italy.

Por qué Maddaloni

You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or wedding date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
