El mapa

Matsuzaki Map Poster & Print

Matsuzaki lies on the shore of Lake Tōgō in the town of Yurihama, in central Tottori Prefecture. On a map, the lake is the main shape, a rounded body of water linked to the Sea of Japan by a short channel. The town's streets run along the eastern shore, and farmland and low wooded hills rise behind them.

The area is known for the Tōgō hot springs, which have drawn visitors to inns along the lakeshore for generations. The lake is shallow and calm, and it is used for fishing and boating. The dunes and beaches of the Tottori coast are close by, and so is the San'in main rail line.

A Matsuzaki map poster shows a small town arranged around still water. The lakeshore curves gently through the frame, the streets gather in a thin band along it, and the railway and roads pass nearby. The result is a quiet, balanced composition that fits the unhurried character of a hot-spring town.

01

Lake Tōgō

The shallow lagoon fills much of the map. Its soft, rounded outline and short channel to the sea give the town its setting.

02

Lakeside hot springs

The Tōgō hot springs line the shore, and the inns and streets built around them hug the water's edge, forming a narrow band of development.

03

Road and rail

The main road and the San'in line run near the town, drawing long lines past the lake that connect Matsuzaki with the rest of the Tottori coast.
