Nümbrecht is a municipality in the Oberbergischer Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia, set in the rolling hills of the Bergisches Land east of Cologne. It is recognised as a climatic health resort, a status that reflects its clean air and green surroundings. The municipality covers a wide area of hills, woods and meadows, with a main village and many small hamlets.
On a map, Nümbrecht looks quite different from a compact town. The central village has a modest cluster of streets, while dozens of smaller settlements are scattered across the landscape and linked by winding country roads.
