El mapa
Obita lies in the Nagasaki area of Kyushu, in southwestern Japan, a part of the country known for its steep hills and narrow valleys running down toward the sea. The terrain shapes everything here, and on the map the streets follow the contours of the land rather than a regular pattern.
Nagasaki's landscape is famously hilly, with houses built on slopes and roads curving along ridges and down into valleys. In this setting, residential streets climb the hillsides in tight turns, while larger roads follow the valley floors, creating a network that is dense in some places and sparse in others.
Green, wooded slopes break up the built-up areas, giving the map a mix of dense streets and open land. An Obita map poster captures this layered, hillside character, showing a place where the street network is shaped by the steep, folded ground that defines this corner of Kyushu.
Residential roads wind along the hillsides, following the shape of the land and creating a pattern of tight curves across the map.
Main roads follow the lower ground between the hills, forming the most direct lines through the area and linking it to its surroundings.
Green hillsides break up the built-up areas, leaving open patches on the map between clusters of streets.
